Diabetes pills help to reduce blood sugar. The pills are effective
for those people whose pancreas makes some insulin.
There are three types of diabetes pills; ones that increase the body's
sensitivity to the insulin that is already present, pills that either
stimulate the pancreas to release more insulin, or slow the breakdown
of foods (especially starches) into glucose.
